Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing and reality TV star Phyna are set to meet in the boxing ring on October 1 following a recent social media disagreement between the two entertainers.
The celebrity bout, tagged “Phyna vs Nkechi,” is scheduled to take place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
Balmoral Group Promotions announced the contest on Friday, September 18, as part of its “Chaos in the Ring” series.
Promotional materials released by the organisers showed both entertainers wearing boxing equipment ahead of the Independence Day event.
The fight announcement follows an exchange between Phyna and Nkechi on social media.
Nkechi had criticised the reality TV personality over her involvement in online disputes. Phyna responded by questioning why the actress had chosen to speak about her publicly.

She also stated that the pair had previously communicated over a movie project.
Their disagreement has now been transformed into a celebrity boxing contest, with the two entertainers scheduled to meet before a live audience in Lagos.
The “Chaos in the Ring” series has featured several well-known entertainment personalities in previous editions.
Among them are Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington and Carter Efe. Carter Efe defeated Portable by unanimous decision in May, while Charles Okocha recorded a victory over Portable in their rematch in July.
Organisers have also confirmed that the October 1 event will be broadcast live on DAZN and SuperSport.
The contest is expected to draw interest from fans of both entertainment and boxing, particularly because of the social media dispute that preceded the announcement.
The event forms part of a wider trend of combining celebrity culture with live boxing shows to create entertainment programmes centred on popular personalities.
Details of the supporting bouts and ticketing arrangements had not been announced as of Saturday.
