Nollywood veteran Hanks Anuku has challenged those questioning his pastoral background to verify his claim with Pastor Enoch Adeboye, whom he says ordained him as a pastor when he was younger.
The actor made the statement during an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he opened up about his Christian faith and involvement in ministry.
Anuku said he studied theology at Redemption Camp while living in Lagos and explained that his decision to pursue ministry was inspired by his love for God.
He maintained that his religious background is not widely known to the public, despite his continued identification as a pastor.
According to the actor, Adeboye performed his ordination while his wife was still alive.

Anuku insisted that anyone seeking confirmation could approach the RCCG General Overseer, whom he said could verify the account.
He also spoke about the importance of trusting God and maintaining a strong prayer life, explaining that he believed his involvement in ministry followed divine direction.
The actor’s comments have attracted attention because they reveal a lesser-known aspect of his personal history beyond his established career in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Anuku has appeared in numerous Nollywood productions over the years, earning recognition for his performances. However, his latest disclosure highlights his claim to have undertaken theological studies and received pastoral ordination earlier in his life.
During the interview, he emphasised that his relationship with God remains central to his identity.
He also suggested that people may be unaware of important aspects of another person’s life when they focus solely on their public profession.
Anuku’s revelation has generated interest in his spiritual journey and his claimed connection with Adeboye.
While the actor stands by his account, his statement during the podcast remains his personal account of the ordination.
He concluded by reiterating the importance of faith and prayer, expressing his belief that God’s power and guidance are essential in navigating life’s challenges.
