The African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, on Friday revealed President Bola Tinubu’s policies that his party’s flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, will inherit if elected president of Nigeria in 2027.
Amaechi said policies that are not detrimental to Nigerians will be inherited if Atiku is elected president of Nigeria in 2027.
In an interview on News Central TV, Amaechi said policies detrimental to Nigerians will be discontinued.
“We need to sit down with the cabinet to review his (Tinubu’s) economic policies, the ones that are not that detrimental we will inherit, the ones that are detrimental we will not inherit,” Amaechi said.
According to him, Tinubu’s administration has overtaxed Nigerians.
“Nigerians are overtaxed, what Tinubu is waiting for is for the elections to be over, the tax that he has introduced which is yet to take effect is, for instance, if you have N100 million in your account, N25 million will be paid to the Federal Government without your consent, the bank will just take it, the law has been passed. I dare Tinubu to come for a debate.
“Initially, they said that I’m lying, I kept quiet but a member of the National Assembly, Ireti, said no, we passed the law but it’s not being implemented.
“It’s not implemented because Tinubu is afraid that if they see that law and it comes into effect, they may likely join the ADC,” Amaechi added.
