Governor Ahmadu Fintiri on Saturday declared that 2027 is only an election year and not a time for war, cautioning youths against lending themselves to be used by any politician to fight personal wars.
In a goodwill message during an event marking the 20th anniversary of the Adamawa State Government House Chapel, Yola, Fintiri appealed to Christian youths in particular to reflect the light of God in their life before, during, and after the election.
Fintiri, who was represented at the Grand Anniversary Celebration of the Chapel by his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Faruta, said, “The coming election is not a war or battle. We should all come out and vote without violence. Youths should come out but not as thugs. You must not allow yourselves to be thugs in the hands of politicians.”
The governor urged all who worship at the Government House Chapel and Christianity in general not to allow the fire on the alter go off, but to keep it burning so that God would continue to bless the state and the nation.

Former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt General Theophilus Danjuma, rtd, who was chairman of the occasion, represented on the occasion by Major General Ishaya Bamaiyi, rtd, asked Adamawa people not to vote for Atiku Abubakar, but for President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Danjuma said Tinubu deserves a return to power because of how he has recognised and given prominence to the people of the Middle Belt in the years that he has been president.
