The Adamawa State Police Command has recorded another significant breakthrough in its fight against violent crimes, as operatives attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Jada, have arrested two suspects for the brutal murder of a 10-year-old boy in Jada Local Government Area.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the spokesman, CSP Suleiman Nguroje, stated that police operatives arrested one Ibrahim Abdul Malik, 27 years old,  and Aliyu Abdul Malik, 18 years old,  both residents of Anguwan Sarkin Yamma, Jada, in connection with the crime.

“The duo were alleged to have killed and beheaded a 10-year-old Almajiri, identified as Abdalla Lawali, of Anguwar Dubai, Jada.

“The victim was reported missing on March 7, 2025. Since then, a search has been ongoing to trace the missing child.”

He added, “Upon receiving information on the suspects’ involvement. The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, deployed security to the scene, where the decomposed body of the deceased was recovered in a sack bag.

“The search warrant was further executed at the suspects’ residence where the head was buried in a shallow grave within the house premises.”

According to the statement, during an investigation, the suspects confessed to committing the crime, regretted the action and blamed the devil for their action.

The CP condemned the barbaric behaviour and directed the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.

He assured the public that justice would be served and called on parents and guardians to be vigilant and report any suspicious movements around their neighbourhood to the police.

The Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 10-year-old girl.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Monday by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, via his account on X (formerly Twitter).

Accompanying a video of the suspects’ interrogation, Edafe wrote: “The boyfriend of the girl deceived one of the triplets, who is a sister to his girlfriend, and took her to meet two unknown men, where they used a machete to kill the little girl, who is 10 years old. They promised to give him ₦200,000, but even the ₦200,000, he didn’t see.”

One of the suspects, a 20-year-old identified as Precious, admitted during the interrogation, saying in part: “I sent a guy to call her (one of the 10-year-old triplets). I then handed her over to the two boys, and they killed her with a cutlass.”

The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a 20-year-old man, identified as Precious, for his alleged role in the killing of a 10-year-old girl in the Orhoakpo Ethiope East area of the state.

TheNigerian Metro learnt from a video posted on X.com by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, on Monday that the incident occurred on January 9.

Edafe revealed that Precious confessed to kidnapping the girl for two unidentified men, who allegedly macheted her to death after promising him N200,000.

The police spokesperson explained that Precious’ girlfriend, who is the sister of the deceased, raised the alarm after discovering her sibling was missing.

Edafe said the girlfriend initially declined Precious’ request to take one of her siblings, who are triplets, before the deceased’s eventual disappearance.

He said, “The lady has 10-year-old triplets who are her siblings. The boy approached her and said, ‘Can she give him one of them so he can use her for something?’ She declined and, of course, did not raise the alarm or report it to her parents, the community, or the police.

“Later that same day, one of the triplets went missing. When they started looking for the child, the girlfriend realised the boy had said she wanted to use her sister. She then raised the alarm, told her parents, who informed the community and went to look for the guy and arrested him.”

During his confession in the video, Precious admitted to taking the girl to meet the two unidentified men, claiming she was killed in his presence and buried in the community.

He also accused the girlfriend of consenting to his request the second time he approached her.

“I told her I needed her younger sister, but she refused and walked away. Then, I went back to meet her and she agreed that I should carry her. So I sent a guy to go and call the little girl and when she came to meet me, I took her away to meet the two boys. The next day, they started looking for the girl. That was when she came to meet me and asked if I was the one who carried her. Then, I said yes. The girl was macheted in my presence and buried in the community.”

Meanwhile, Edafe said the police had yet to discover where the remains of the deceased were buried while the identities of the two men had remained unknown.

He expressed outrage over the incident and emphasised the need for community vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious behaviour. “This is a tragic reminder of the consequences of silence in the face of danger. The police will ensure justice is served,” he stated.

The Delta State Police Command urged the public to report any suspicious activities promptly to prevent such tragedies.

TheNigerian Metro reported on Thursday, January 17, that a 23-year-old man identified simply as Success was arrested for allegedly hacking his father to death with a cutlass.

The gruesome and shocking machete attack was said to have occurred at Amukpe community in the Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a woman, Odeale Fatimah, for allegedly using a blade to inflict deep cuts on her 10-year-old ward in the Obada-Oko area of Ogun State.

TheNigerian Metro gathered that the suspect allegedly tortured the 10-year-old boy identified as Olasunkanmi Oluwadamilare after accusing him of stealing N600 to buy ice cream for friends and as a form of discipline, the suspect used a razor blade to inflict deep cuts on the back of the boy’s hand, leaving him severely injured.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Superintendent of Police, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement sent to our correspondent on Monday.

She revealed that the case was reported by the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools Obada Oko unit led by one Olagbegi Moses, the unit coordinator.

“On January 13, 2025, the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools Obada Oko unit, led by one Olagbegi Moses, the unit coordinator, came to the station with the victim, aged 10-year-old, a student of Dinamis private school Araromi area Obada Oko with deep cuts in his hands.”

“Upon interrogation, Olasunkanmi stated that his guardian, Odeale Fatimah, of housing area Obada Oko, inflicted the injuries on him,” she stated.

Odutola revealed that after Fatimah was arrested, she confessed to the crime, stating that she did it because the victim stole N600 from her.

“Fatimah was arrested, and she confirmed inflicting the injury with a razor blade, stating an excuse that she did that because Olasunkanmi stole six hundred naira to buy ice cream for his friends.”

“Investigation is currently in progress. More information will be disclosed,” she stated.

TheNigerian Metro reported on Sunday that a motorcyclist, identified as Ahmed Owolabi, narrowly escaped death after his passenger, Sherif Oyeniyi, inflicted deep razor blade cuts on his neck while they were in motion in Arepo, Ogun State.
