Baba-Ahmed was reported to have warned that the President’s handling of the security crisis could lead to public rejection if urgent action is not taken.

He said this on Thursday during an interview on Arise News.

“The security situation in Nigeria is deteriorating fast with violent attacks and kidnappings pervading all over the country,” the PRP leader said.

“President Tinubu has no grip on escalating violence every part of Nigeria is now vulnerable to insecurity. In a civilised democracy, President Tinubu’s record on insecurity would have cost him his seat long ago,” he said.

The kidnapping of children showed how deep the crisis was, he said.

“Every inch of Nigeria is now vulnerable to insecurity. Every time children from generals to toddlers are stolen. Children, toddlers in school have been kidnapped.”

Baba-Ahmed said the government had not faced up to the reality of growing violence. He said the insecurity crisis appeared normal to Tinubu and his inner circle.

He said, “Everything that should have been said by the media, by civil society, by everybody, except of course the National Assembly, Tinubu himself and his little circle of supporters, seem to believe that this is a problem that we can live with.

The PRP leader said the government had failed in its basic responsibility of protecting lives and property.

Now, President Tinubu has spectacularly failed to protect anybody. “Again, like I said, every part of Nigeria is now vulnerable,” he said.

He warned the country could suffer more attacks unless urgent action was taken.

“We are in trouble,” Baba-Ahmed said. “We have not been safe under him and it is likely that we will be more exposed to criminality between now and the elections.”

Baba-Ahmed said the PRP’s demand for the resignation of Tinubu was not political but because of the worsening state of national security.

“We said everything else. And we mean that in all seriousness. “He said President Tinubu should step down.

He said the status quo would be rejected by Nigerians if the President remained.

“If we project what he’s doing, how he’s performing between now and the elections, we don’t even need to wait,” the PRP Leader said. Nigerians will not have him.” »

“Insecurity has become a defining national crisis that can no longer be excused,” Baba-Ahmed said.

“Anything more?” he asked. What more can one say to President Tinubu and Nigerians?

“I heard your programme. You were talking about the increase in these kidnappings and violent crimes all over the country.”

Baba-Ahmed, who spoke in an interview with newsmen, said the country is going through one of its most challenging periods, citing rising insecurity, widespread poverty and increasing social fragmentation.

He said the present administration seems out of touch with the daily struggles of citizens, adding that many Nigerians, especially the young, are losing hope because of limited opportunities and a lack of direction for the future.

He said such conditions have also deepened mistrust in the society with communities becoming more and more divided and tensions continuing to rise in different parts of the country.

“The deterioration of the country will only get worse if there is no urgent political change in 2027, Baba-Ahmed said.

He said: “We’ve never been more in a war situation than we are now. We have a government that is too far from the people.

“They really don’t understand the condition Nigerians live in. “We are living with the highest level of insecurity we have ever lived with. The level of poverty is unprecedented. Young people have no hope. There is nothing to inspire them to be good citizens, and to grow up in a country that does not care for them to be productive adults. We are at war with each other, we hate each other.

“The country is more split now than ever. And it is very important that we stop this drift in 2027. Like I said before, another name for the same administration may just end this country.”

Reacting to the assertion that the opposition to the President is part of a concerted political strategy, the PRP leader dismissed the claim, insisting that the challenges facing Nigeria are due to the rising criminal activities and the state’s inability to effectively contain them.

He said the anger in the streets is as a result of the real issues of life and not the manipulation of politicians, and urged the government to concentrate on addressing insecurity and welfare conditions.

“If there is a gang-up, it will be a gang-up of criminals, bandits, killers and kidnappers that same president has not been able to contain. Those are the only people who will gang up so that Nigerians will be killed and maimed and be made poorer. It is not a gang up. “Mr President can’t secure Nigerians, so he blames criminals. He’s blaming politicians not dealing with the sources, the display of insecurity.

“If he said there is a gang up against him, it’s not coming from law-abiding citizens, it is coming from those who think President Tinubu should mobilize to protect them. There must be some gang up of criminals and bandits and kidnappers. “Not on that,” he said.

In an appearance on Channels Television on Friday, Baba-Ahmed reportedly urged Atiku to abandon his plans to run for president in 2027.

While Datti was a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), he said that Atiku Abubakar had already begun running for president of Nigeria.

He urged the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate to let the younger generation take control of politics and look for solutions to the nation’s issues.

He stated, “Baba Atiku was a candidate when I was doing my NYSC, and we ran together in the primaries in 2018.” When his vice president left him in 2023, we ran again, me as vice president, in a different location. Oh my god, in 2027 once more?

“A new generation of Nigerian leaders is required, and they do exist.” A whole new generation is waiting for a new leader to guide them to a new party, as I mentioned. Nigerians can be good people.

“There are individuals who are capable of resolving Nigerian issues, but they are deterred by the costly, challenging, and deceitful system that is full of godfathers and false promises to make. However, some decent Nigerians are searching for a leader who can solve Nigeria’s issues.
