Nollywood producer cum actress, Biodun Stephen has reacted to those condemning movie producers for kissing scenes in Nollywood and attributing it to the crash of marriages among film makers.

Biodun, who made the comments in an Instagram video, said actors and their spouses know the demands of the profession and should take responsibility in handling their relationships.

It’s not a producer’s job to save any actor’s marriage, the filmmaker said. It’s not the directors’ fault if there are problems in actors’ marriages after the scenes.

Biodun Stephen said, “Some actors don’t want to do kissing scenes because of personal belief and directors find a way around it while some have no problem with it.

A producer’s job is to protect actors on set and present them respectfully on screen — not save their marriages, she added.

“There’s this lady that always has a mouth for Nollywood,” she said. She said something about kissing, Nollywood and the producers. And she said something about the producers taking it easy on the actors kissing because we’re ruining their marriages maybe.

Kissing is not really part of my craft because I want you people to watch my movies with your children but that does not mean that when an opportunity comes for it, I will not embrace it.” I’ll embrace it as long as the story demands it.

“Believability is some of what we’re selling actors on the screen. “You’re selling an emotion, you’re selling a chemistry, you want people to believe in this love, so that they can root for it.

“Yeah it can be done without intense kissing but when you are now bringing things like the marriage don’t work.

“I think it is the actor’s responsibility who has chosen the profession and also the spouse of that actor who has accepted that my spouse is an actor and therefore things like kissing and rubbing may happen.

“And they must have resigned themselves to it. This is not my responsibility.

“There are actors that will tell you I’m sorry I can’t kiss for religious reasons and there are actors that say I don’t mind kissing.

“As a producer or director, my job is to protect you as actors. my job is to introduce you well to the audience not mailing your person but my job is not to break your home that’s not on me “I didn’t hold a gun to your head to make you work for me.

Nigerian music artist manager, Ubi Franklin, has recounted an attempted suicide on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State following the crash of his marriage to Nollywood actress cum ex-wife, Lilian Esoro.

Ubi was said to have made the revelation in a video posted on his Instagram page while educating his fans through his life story.

“I got depressed and embarrassed after my separation from Lilian,” Ubi Franklin said, speaking about his marriage to Lilian.

He said he had some crazy, depressing periods but later realised that not every love story ends the way one had imagined.

Ubi Franklin, who said that he attempted suicide several times, said that he once drove to Third Mainland Bridge to commit suicide, before he was rescued by his cousin brother, Omini Stitches.

“I had some crazy depressing positions,” he said. I remember one time I bought a red CL, I drove that car to the third Mainland bridge to go and commit suicide.

“The only luck I had was my cousin brother Omini Stitches who came to save me. Omini saved me when I tried to kill myself several times. I was so embarrassed, I don’t know what to do. I thought, what have I done to deserve all this. I’ve got a good career going for me. I have like, the biggest artist in the country at the time. I think it was my time to settle down, everything was good.

“So, sometimes I always feel like this relationship did not work it was just supposed to be that way. To this day I still can’t really explain what exactly happened, but we are now very good friends. We are very good co-parents, we celebrate events of our son . So sometimes I have always believed that no matter how much pain, the best result that I got from that was my son. And she’s still doing really well. Any chance I get to support her, I always do it to the fullest and I pray she keeps doing great. What I want you to learn from this lesson is I don’t want you to think that when something happens sometimes with the human being, you have to hate the human being. That is not the case. Sometimes it’s just a chance for you to learn from the process and keep it moving.”

Nollywood actress, Adebimpe Oyebade popularly known as Mo Bimpe has reacted to a social media troll and threatened to take legal action over a report on paternity fraud involving one of her triplets.

A social media user identified by the 𝕏 handle, @iam_Mardiyyah, was alleged to have claimed that Bimpe’s husband, actor Lateef Adedimeji, had filed for a divorce over the paternity of their triplets after a general hospital in Ilorin rejected his blood donation for one of the babies.

Troll reported that popular Nigerian actor Lateef Adedimeji has filed for divorce from his wife after his blood donation was rejected by the Ilorin General Hospital for one of the triplets. The doctor said their blood groups did not match and this led to a paternity confirmation which led the 40-year-old actor to do a DNA test on the children. “The result shows that Lateef is not the biological father of the kids.”

Reacting to the post through her Instagram Story on Tuesday, Bimpe said she would not heed the public when she takes legal action against the troll.

“I don’t want to hear justice for whatever your stupid name is by the time I’m ready for you! she wrote You stupid trolls have been trolling me on these platforms for years & I’ve been quiet but what I won’t have is you bringing your stupidity to my children!!! Caution! If need be, I won’t hesitate to do the right thing.

Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo has sparked rumours of her marriage following a series of emotional posts on her Instagram Story.

It was reported that rumours began after fans noticed the couple unfollow each other on Instagram.

The speculations heightened after both Ogbodo and Bobby Maris shared separate cryptic messages on their social media pages.

In a new post on her page, Ogbodo questioned why it is acceptable for a man to become tired of a marriage but is frowned upon when a woman expresses the same feeling.

“I’m tired,” she said, and why is it wrong to say that?

The actress also hinted that being happy in a marriage is often about the connections a woman has in Nigeria. She asked why the decision to not remain married should be seen as a sin.

She also cautioned against being pushed beyond her limit, describing herself as someone who could only tolerate so much.

Ogbodo reflected on the eight years of the marriage and wondered if people expected her to stay for twenty years or until she died before her pain would be acknowledged.

Veteran Nollywood actor Ricardo Agbor has revealed his 18 year journey to parenthood, as he and his wife waited nearly two decades before welcoming their twins.

During a recent interview, the actor opened up about his marriage, faith and the hardships he and his wife faced before becoming parents.

During the long wait, Agbor said he never wavered in his commitment to his wife and never allowed the delay in starting a family to affect their relationship.
“I wanted to marry a particular lady; I married her irrespective of where she comes from. She’s not from my tribe. “So normally, we were supposed to have strife, no, it was very fair,” he said.

He spoke about the couple’s struggle with childlessness and said he specifically prayed for twins and refused to lose hope, despite waiting for 18 years.

“It took me 18 years to have the twins. And I waited. 18 years old God knows, and they’re 14 now, I told God I wanted twins.

“So, in that wait, if it were someone else, he would cross. But bottom line is I have twins. I have a son and a daughter. “I asked God for what I wanted,” he said.

Agbor also talked about what he called the most painful experience of his life, the death of his mother.

She had been in treatment for about three weeks without improvement, before doctors recommended that she should be flown to South Africa for further medical attention, he said.

He said his mother requested to be taken to another private hospital in Surulere but died in his arms while he was helping her into the car.

“My mother died in my arms. They were bringing almost 10 doctors to the hospital to do tests… the sickness was not improving after almost three weeks.

“After three weeks they said come and carry my mom and take her to South Africa. I took my mother away and brought her to another private hospital in Surulere. My mom told me to get her out of there. He said, “Carrying her into the car, she quit.”

He was devastated by the loss, Agbor said, adding that it was the first time he had cried outside acting.

“I think that was the first time I ever cried in my life. I never cry. If I cry, it may be in a movie, it may be a role. So I wept. It was a painful thing,” he said.

Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has said that polygamy does a lot of damage to families, while referencing the ongoing property dispute in the family of late Nollywood actor, Mr Ibu.

Stella Maris, the widow of Mr Ibu, and his other children born out of wedlock have been making the news concerning the sale of the late actor’s properties.

Rita Edochie reacting to the development in a post via Instagram argued that these complex family dynamics prove that polygamy does more harm than good.

The actor said no matter how people sugar coat polygamy or paint it as a cultural success story it does not change the fact that it jeopardised the peace, unity and harmony of many families.

“I do not want to be numbered…” she wrote, This is the main reason polygamy has done more harm than good not only in Nigeria but in Africa as a whole. We have to call things as they are. Old Mr Ibu did not do well at all!!!! However hard we try to sweeten polygamy and make it a success story of culture, it does not change the fact that it has been one of the biggest mistakes of marriage that has undermined the peace, unity and harmony of countless families.

“Every day I just find more reasons to hate and loathe polygamy. It is not something I would ever want for my worst enemy. And once more life is giving fresh evidence that peace is always under threat where polygamy exists, and division is waiting patiently for its chance.

For generations, polygamy has been defended, but the painful outcome keep repeating themselves, rivalry, jealousy, unhealthy competition, bitterness, divided loyalties, inheritance dispute and prolonged family conflicts have become family stories in polygamous homes. And the pain comes when the proud polygamist is gone on the other side. Unfortunately.

“The situation currently playing out in Mr Ibu’s family has become another painful reminder of how difficult such family structure can become. It is heartbreaking to see the public bickering between family members over properties and other issues. Billionaire heiress and Nigerian disc jockey, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy has vowed never to marry a Nigerian.

She made the comments on a recent podcast appearance, it was reported.

Cuppy said in the discussion that her decision was informed by her past experience with someone who she said was more interested in meeting her father than having a real relationship with her.

She said the experience often makes her wonder about the motives of some men who approach her.

“I can’t marry a Nigerian. You cannot. The last guy I was dating wanted to know when he could meet my dad. I didn’t even believe they like me. My dad is not worried about who I marry. He just wants me married. That’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Eazi,” she said.

DJ Cuppy has opened up about her dating journey and how it has shaped her current choice of partner.

The singer was said to have said this during a chat with ZeZe Millz where Cuppy explained she has met and dated different types of men over the years.

She said the 33-year-old has been involved with men from all walks of life, including a model, a footballer and even a bus driver.

She said she made many of these connections through dating apps, adding she once paid about £400 or over ₦700,000, to join one of the platforms.

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has responded to critics who queried his age following the release of his new song, I Can’t Look Away.

The discussion reportedly began on social media when a woman responded to the singer’s latest release, saying, “I don’t get why an almost 50-year-old man is still singing like this. “It’s okay to retire.”

The comment drew reactions from fans and celebrities including media personality Do2dtun popularly known as Dotun.

He defended Peter by citing a number of international music stars still going strong despite their age.

“Celine Dion is 58 years old, Shakira is 49 years old, Beyonce is 44, Busta Rhymes 54, Bruce Springsteen is 76, Lionel Richie is 76 and the oldest Backstreet Boy is 54,” Dotun said.

All of them still perform and entertain audiences across the globe,” he added, saying Peter’s age should not be held against him.

Peter, in response to the criticism, thanked Dotun for his support and poked fun at the latest criticism leveled against him.

“I will not increase fuel price for Naija. Frustration dey everywhere but somehow na Mr P dem wan blame,” he wrote.

“Critics have said I haven’t got any talent, haven’t got any singing ability before talking about my age,” the singer said.

“After dem don see say all those narratives no make sense, dem come with another one: ‘Now he is too old to be singing and dancing,’” he said.

The musician claims that the rejection he experienced in high school traumatized him.

The head of Marvin Records reportedly talked about his prior experience while speaking on the Keeping It Real With Jima show.

The music producer clarified that the encounter had a lasting psychological impact on him into adulthood.

He went on to say that in an effort to get over the psychological trauma, he returned to search for the girls after becoming well-known and prosperous.

“I wasn’t attractive when I was in high school. I was being rejected by girls all the time back then, so thank God for music. However, once I was successful, I returned to find all the girls who had turned me down. However, nearly all of them were already wed, he disclosed.

Don Jazzy, meanwhile, has stated that he may continue looking for a life partner outside of Nigeria; he is currently considering East African nations.

The Mavin Records boss, who oversees Mavin Records, reportedly made the comment during a lighthearted Instagram exchange with fans.

He was referred to by a fan as a “African treasure” who is a part of the entire continent, not just Nigerians. He responded in a lighthearted manner, saying that although he has never been to Uganda, he frequently has a deep connection to several African nations, such as Ghana, South Africa, and Uganda.

He continued to make jokes about love and marriage, stating that he may look to Tanzania or Uganda if he couldn’t find a wife in Nigeria.

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has cleared the air on speculations about his relationship with his first daughter, Danielle.

It was reported that Danielle had taken her father’s name off her social media handles, which sparked speculation that the teen had a rocky relationship with her dad.

The actor had faced backlash online before after social media users accused him of ignoring Danielle’s graduation while posting about his children with his second wife, Judy Austin.

But the actor, speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, said he has a close relationship with his first daughter, who is 21.

“I don’t expect her to fully understand me at her age,” he said, adding that he, too, struggled to understand his own father when he was younger.

“It is natural for children to feel more connected to their mother’s side,” he said, describing the situation as normal.

He said: “We are very close. She’s only twenty-one, I don’t expect her to understand me. At 21, I was a mystery to my father. It’s a normal thing. There will be a leaning toward her mother.”

The interview caused a stir online, with many fans criticising the actor. Some said his daughter might still have issues stemming from his relationship with her mother.
