A hit-and-run truck driver on Wednesday killed one Ms Faith Aluku Adeshola, a diploma journalism student of the Department of Mass Communication, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi.

Adeshola she was knocked down by the truck while crossing the road to attend an evening lecture.

LEADERSHIP gathered that at the time of the accident, Ms faith was being conveyed to the school on a motorcycle but the truck driver rammed into them, resulting in her death on the spot.

The truck driver and the Okada rider have been arrested and currently in police custody.

Meanwhile, the body for the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.

President of the institution’s Students’ Union Government (SUG), Comrade Haruna Umar said the late Ms Faith was still processing her registration as at the time of her death.

Umar appealed to the students to be patient and calm, assuring that the management of the polytechnic and security agencies were doing the needful to get justice for the deceased student.

He also appealed to the Polytechnic’s management and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to install speed bumps around the Polytechnic’s fence to prevent future occurrences.
