The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has condemned the treatment of Ms. Comfort Emmanson over an incident aboard an Ibom Air flight, describing it as a violation of her right to dignity.

The NBA in the same vein pledged to provide Emmanson with pro bono legal support to seek redress, insisting that “respect for human dignity and the rule of law must never be compromised”.
In a statement signed by its President, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, and General Secretary, Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara, the NBA criticised Ibom Air and the Airline Operators of Nigeria, AON, for imposing a lifetime ban on Emmanson without a fair hearing.

According to the NBA, Emmanson was “forcibly removed from the aircraft, stripped of her clothing in public, and humiliated” with the incident filmed and shared online.
The association maintained that the conduct was degrading, unlawful, and “a grave affront to the rule of law and human dignity”.
The NBA also referred to video footage allegedly showing an Ibom Air hostess preventing Emmanson from leaving the aircraft, which it said could amount to false imprisonment and may have escalated the situation.

It called for an independent investigation by relevant authorities before any disciplinary action is taken.
On the lifetime ban, the NBA argued that only the statutory aviation regulator has the authority to suspend or restrict a passenger’s right to fly, not private associations or individual operators.
The association further condemned the circulation of unedited footage exposing Emmanson’s nudity, describing it as a criminal invasion of privacy. It urged that those responsible for recording and distributing the video be identified and prosecuted.

The NBA demanded that Ibom Air withdraw the lifetime ban, issue a public apology, and cooperate with an impartial investigation.
It also called on the Minister of Aviation, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and security agencies to conduct a thorough inquiry and sanction those found culpable.

Nigeria’s first lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has said the Free to Shine campaign will cover the six geopolitical zones of the country to reduce new HIV infections among women of reproductive age and to prevent mother-to-child transmission.

Sen. Oluremi Tinubu made this known at the flag-off of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) Free To Shine Campaign in the North West zone at Kaduna yesterday.

Tinubu’s wife lamented that Nigeria is the country with the highest burden of HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa due to its large population, adding that ‘’This burden is particularly severe among children, youth, women, and marginalised groups.’’

The first lady also said the Free to Shine campaign aims to ‘’ensure that every child born with HIV receives the necessary treatment and support to thrive”.

‘’To complement the Free to Shine Campaign, I have also decided to advocate for the triple elimination of HIV/AIDS, Syphilis and Hepatitis by 2030. This campaign will cover the nation’s six (6) geopolitical zones.

‘’According to the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, in 2024, there were over 100,000 children and nearly two million adults living with HIV,” she said.

Speaking at the event, Kaduna State governor Uba Sani commended the first lady for her inspirational leadership, adding, ‘’You have continued to make us proud with the noble causes you are pursuing.’’

Terms & Conditions Of Free Spins No Deposit Casinos

Let’s face it: it’s almost impossible to find an online casino bonus with no requirements that need to be met. This is even more pronounced for free spins no deposit bonus. Players are usually strongly advised to read the terms and conditions of bonuses before falling into any pitfall they could’ve avoided. Here are some of the most common terms and conditions to be aware of with free spins no deposit bonus.

Duration of Validity

Free spins no deposit bonus are usually available for a set period. Most casinos have varying time sets for their bonus redemption, gameplay and wagering, so it’s always essential to go through the terms and conditions of bonuses to know their expiration date. With this known, you can plan when you intend to take advantage of it.

Wagering Requirements

This may be the most crucial factor to consider when reading the terms and conditions of a free spin offer. The wagering requirements mean that you must play through the value of your free spins multiple times before you can withdraw any winnings. This condition ensures players engage with the platform rather than simply cashing out immediately. If the requirements are too high, withdrawing your winnings could be difficult, so opting for offers with reasonable playthrough conditions is best.

Maximum Cashout Limits

Casinos often impose a maximum withdrawal limit on winnings earned from free spins or bonus funds. This cap prevents players from cashing out large amounts without depositing, ensuring the casino remains profitable.

The cashout restriction is typically mentioned in the bonus terms and can either be a fixed amount or a percentage of the winnings. To manage your expectations, always verify this detail before claiming a promotion.

Eligible Games for Bonus Usage

Bonuses, especially free spins, are usually tied to specific games. Casinos use these promotions to highlight certain slots, so make sure the bonus applies to a game you enjoy before claiming.

Additionally, some games may be excluded from free spin promotions, meaning they won’t contribute toward wagering requirements. Checking the restricted game list will help you avoid wasting spins on ineligible titles.

Accepted Payment Methods

In most cases, e-wallets like Skrill and Neteller are excluded from casino bonuses and promotions, which also means that deposits made with these methods will not be eligible for any bonus.

To avoid this, use a payment option included in the bonus’s terms and conditions. Also, remember that withdrawals often come with rules, including account verification, wagering clearance, and sometimes a verification deposit.

Conclusion

While 50 free spins no deposit bonus is an alluring offer, it is essential to check out the terms and conditions attached to them. In this way, you’ll be able to avoid potential complications while taking full advantage of the attractive offer. Remember to proceed with caution regarding any casino bonus offered to players, and gamble responsibly.

In the last six months, Lions International District 404B4 has provided free treatment to more than 1,000 diabetes patients in Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo states.

The district governor of the Lions Club, Engr Taiwo Fatoki, disclosed this at the club’s second convention, which was held in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Fatoki, who assumed office as the club’s governor in July 2024, said that about 500 diabetes patients were screened and treated in Mushin, Lagos State, while another 500 patients were treated in Otta, Abeokuta, Ogun State, and Ibadan, Oyo State, respectively.

The district governor, who described diabetes as a silent killer, advised Nigerians to take care of their health by conducting regular tests on their health in reputable healthcare facilities.

He explained that the Lion Club, which has existed for over a century, was established to provide humanitarian services to people all over the world.

“Lions International has six districts in Nigeria and has been rendering humanitarian services to alleviate the suffering of humans, especially in blindness, diabetes, paediatric cancer, youth empowerment programmes and environmental disaster,” he said.

He said that the club has been providing various services across the country, adding that his predecessor empowered many widows and women with grinding machines while Lions International donated $10,000 United States dollars to victims of a flood disaster in Borno State last year.”

Speaking on the convention theme, “Service Without Boundaries”, Fatoki said it was brought to Ogbomoso to extend the club’s services to other parts of the district.

Former Governor of Cross River State, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to continue to work for the stability and unity of the party.

The PDP in recent times have been struggling with internal squabbles and defections of key members to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC.

Duke made the call at the end of the South-South Zonal Congress held in Calabar over the weekend, assuring that the party can bounce back to power if members are united, focused and steadfast.

“I want to implore us to be focused and steadfast. There is no amount of struggle we cannot surmount.”

Meanwhile, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike told the congress that nobody in the party or Nigeria can oppress, intimidate or stop him from working for the APC Federal Government.

He insisted that he was not committing anti-party offenses.

According to him, other key PDP leaders are also enhancing the fortunes of other parties yet they are not castigated.

“You have a BoT chairman who said he has no regrets in praising and supporting the LP governor in Abia State.

“The BoT chairman said he will continue to support the Abia governor until his second term ticket is guaranteed.

“Besides, the chairman of PDP Governors Forum went and celebrated that governor from another party who won election in his state against PDP and that was not seen as anti-party.

“The National Working Committee never rebuked the governor for adopting a governorship candidate of another party. You see hypocrisy,” Wike said.

He emphasized that nobody in Nigeria can oppress or intimidate him, saying he does not need to be a governor to know his right.

“I will continue to fight until the right thing is done and seen to have been done.”

Speaking further, the minister says, “Before I became the FCT minister, I wrote to the party and consulted with critical stakeholders of the PDP.

“They consented and said go and serve. So what offence have I committed? We have elders in this country who don’t tell their children the truth.

“For me, I say no, I must tell people the truth. It is wrong that political leaders have refused to tell the truth.

“We the Southern PDP leaders agreed that we should support a Southern President in 2023, with the likes of Bode George. This is the reason I ensured that Tinubu won the election.”

Rose Idibia, the mother of veteran singer Innocent, popularly known as 2face, has raised the alarm that Nigerians should help her beg Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawuru, to leave her son.

She made the appeal in a video that went viral on Thursday evening.

According to Mrs Idibia, 2face is presently not in his right frame of mind due to the divorce proceedings with his estranged wife, Annie.

“Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs Rose Idibia, the mother of 2face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son.

<amp-video-iframe src="https://360playvid.info/slidepleer/videoIframe.html?fn=s1184s" width="16" height="9" layout="responsive" dock="#pv-dock-slot" style=" overflow: visible !important;"> </amp-video-iframe>

“My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him.

“Please Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him,” she said.

The TheNigerian reports a viral video on Thursday that captured the moment 2face proposed to Osawaru.

In the video, the singer and the lawmaker were seen dancing together to the admiration of some of their friends.

2face later proceeded to present Osawaru with a ring, after which they were locked in a long embrace.

This comes just a day after the musician publicly confirmed his romantic relationship with Osawaru, setting social media abuzz.

The revelation follows his recent separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, with the singer expressing his intention to take things further with Osawaru.

Speculations about their relationship had been growing after 2face was seen at the Edo State Assembly and a video surfaced showing the two together at a Lagos club.

Addressing the rumours, the African Queen crooner took to Instagram on Tuesday to set the record straight.

In the video, he said in part, “Allegedly, I have seen so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I posted what I posted.

“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker.

“She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage. Yes, I love her. She is amazing, and she is cool. I want to marry her.”

Osawaru is a politician and member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party.

She was elected in April 2023 and is from the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.

The Central Bank of Nigeria has eliminated the three free monthly withdrawals previously allowed for customers using other banks’ ATMs.

In a circular dated February 10, 2025, the apex bank directed all banks and financial institutions to implement new ATM withdrawal charges from March 1, 2025.

This means customers will now pay for every withdrawal made from another bank’s ATM.

The review affects the charges prescribed in Section 10.7 of the CBN Guide to Charges by Banks, Other Financial and Non-Bank Financial Institutions (2020).

<amp-video-iframe src="https://360playvid.info/slidepleer/videoIframe.html?fn=s1184s" width="16" height="9" layout="responsive" dock="#pv-dock-slot" style=" overflow: visible !important;"> </amp-video-iframe>

The circular, signed by John Onojah, Acting Director of the Financial Policy and Regulation Department at the CBN, is expected to accelerate the deployment of ATMs across the country while ensuring that financial institutions apply appropriate charges for the service.

It read, “The three free monthly withdrawals allowed for Remote-On-Us (other bank’s customers/Not-On-Us consumers) in Nigeria under Section 10.6.2 of the Guide shall no longer apply.”

Under the new directive, withdrawals made from a customer’s bank ATM will remain free.

However, customers using another bank’s ATM will now be charged N100 per N20,000 withdrawal when using ATMs located within bank premises.

For withdrawals made at off-site ATMs, a charge of N100 per N20,000 withdrawal will apply, along with a surcharge of up to N500.

The surcharge, which will be an income of the ATM deployer or acquirer, must be disclosed at the point of withdrawal.

The CBN also stated that international ATM withdrawals would be charged at the exact rate set by the international acquirer.

The apex bank attributed the review to rising costs and the need to enhance efficiency in ATM operations.

The circular read, “In response to rising costs and the need to improve efficiency of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) services in the banking industry, the Central Bank of Nigeria has reviewed the ATM transaction fees prescribed in Section 10.7 of the extant CBN Guide to Charges by Banks, Other Financial and Non-Bank Financial Institutions, 2020 (the Guide).

“This review is expected to accelerate the deployment of ATMs and ensure that appropriate charges are applied by financial institutions to consumers of the service. Accordingly, banks and other financial institutions are advised to apply the following fees with effect from March 1, 2025.”

The new charges mean that bank customers who frequently use ATMs belonging to other banks will now incur higher costs.

The introduction of additional surcharges on off-site ATMs could also lead to increased reliance on digital banking channels such as mobile apps and online transfers.

With banks expected to implement the new structure from 1 March, customers may need to adjust their banking habits to avoid additional fees.

The CBN’s directive aligns with ongoing efforts to promote cashless transactions, a policy that has seen increased regulatory attention in recent years.

This review of ATM charges occurred after a warning to the banks by the CBN that any bank found not dispensing cash via ATMs would be sanctioned.

The CBN recently sanctioned nine Deposit Money Banks with fines totalling N1.35bn for failing to ensure cash availability via ATMs during the festive season.

Each of the banks was fined N150m following spot checks that revealed non-compliance with the apex bank’s cash distribution guidelines.

The affected banks included Fidelity Bank Plc, First Bank Plc, Keystone Bank Plc, Union Bank Plc, Globus Bank Plc, Providus Bank Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, United Bank for Africa Plc, and Sterling Bank Plc.

The fines would be directly debited from the banks’ accounts with the CBN.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced a review of transaction fees for automated teller machines (ATMs) across the country.

The revision effectively eliminates the three free monthly withdrawals previously granted to customers using other banks’ ATMs.

This was disclosed in a circular signed by the Acting Director of the Financial Policy and Regulation Department, John Onojah, on Tuesday and applies to all banks and financial institutions operating in Nigeria and is set to take effect from March 1, 2025.

According to the apex bank, the review aims to address rising operational costs and enhance efficiency within the banking sector.

The most significant change is the complete removal of the previous policy that allowed bank customers three free monthly withdrawals on ATMs belonging to other banks. This means that every withdrawal on another bank’s ATM will now attract a charge.

The circular noted, “Furthermore, the three free monthly withdrawals allowed for Remote-On-Us (other bank’s customers/Not-On-Us consumers) in Nigeria under Section 10.6.2 of the Guide shall no longer apply.”

The CBN cited rising costs and the need to enhance ATM efficiency as the primary reasons for the review.

The regulator expected this adjustment to accelerate the deployment of ATMs across Nigeria while ensuring that financial institutions appropriately charge customers for the service.

The circular read, “In response to rising costs and the need to improve the efficiency of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) services in the banking industry, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reviewed the ATM transaction fees prescribed in Section 10.7 of the extant CBN Guide to Charges by Banks, Other Financial and Non-Bank Financial Institutions, 2020 (the Guide).

“This review is expected to accelerate the deployment of ATMs and ensure that appropriate charges are applied by financial institutions to consumers of the service. Accordingly, banks and other financial institutions are advised to apply the following fees with effect from March 1, 2025.”

Hereunder are key changes under the recent CBN review:

On-Us transactions (same bank’s ATM): Customers withdrawing from their own bank’s ATM will continue to enjoy free withdrawals.

Not-On-Us transactions (other banks’ ATMs):

On-site ATMs (within bank premises): A fee of N100 per N20,000 withdrawal will apply.

Off-site ATMs (outside bank premises): A fee of N100 per N20,000 withdrawal, plus an additional surcharge of up to N500, will be charged.

International withdrawals: The charge will be based on the exact amount imposed by the international acquirer.

American rapper and music producer, Kanye West has pleaded with President Donald Trump of the United States to free his ‘idol’ and detained music mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

LEADERSHIP reports that 54-year-old Combs is currently locked up, awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges with West now fighting for his release online.

Kanye went on a foul-mouthed posting spree on X where he pleaded with the newly-inaugurated President to free Combs despite the allegations.

The first of dozens of deranged Kanye posts simply read, “FREE PUFF.”
He wrote a similar message on Instagram.

In another, West tagged President Trump and begged, “PLEASE FREE MY BROTHER PUFF.”

Kanye and Trump have had a close relationship in the past with the pair growing close in the run-up to the Republican’s first election win in 2016.

They were pictured together in The White House in 2018 with Trump describing West as a “complicated” but “really nice guy”, last year.

West’s posts continued for hours with him saying in one that Combs has been ‘rotting’ in jail.

The Graduation rapper called him Combs his ‘idol’ and ‘hero’ as he urged his celebrity pals to support the jailed music mogul because he ‘gave his life to us.’

Combs trial for sex trafficking and racketeering is set for May 5.

He caused further controversy on Thursday when he announced plans to sell merchandise from a joint project between the pair.

West showed he is now selling a series of Sean John shirts in red, white, blue, black and grey for just £17 each.

Sean John is a fashion lifestyle company created by Combs back in 1988.

West described it as a business arrangement between the rapper duo which he alleges was agreed to prior to Combs’ spell behind bars.

A social media post from West said, “YEEZY SEAN JOHN COLLAB AVAILABLE @ YEEZY.COM ME AND PUFF SPLITTING THIS 50/50 LIKE WE DISCUSSED BEFORE THEY LOCKED HIM UP.”

Combs’ Instagram account – believed to be run by his family – shared a screenshot of West’s X post alongside the caption, “Thank you to my brother @Ye.”

The post is just one of nine uploaded to Diddy’s Instagram with almost all of them coming in the past six months.

The messages continued late into the night with many of them going on to reference unfounded claims about Combs’ case.

He accused the criminal justice system of trying to “make an example out of Puff” and said he wanted to find out who was “after” the hip-hop icon.

One of his final messages read, “PUFF WE LOVE YOU.”

Combs was first arrested on September 16 in Manhattan by Homeland Security on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

He has been holed up in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center ever since.

Combs has constantly pleaded not guilty to the sex trafficking charges placed against him.

A 25-year-old woman, Promise Eze, was rescued by the operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command after being tied up and left unconscious by a man she met on an online dating site.

The suspect, who introduced himself as Michael Prince but later identified himself as Emmanuel Okoro, is now on the run, with police launching a manhunt to ensure his swift arrest.

A statement on Sunday by the command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, said the police received a distress call from a hotel in the Wuse area of the FCT after noticing suspicious activities in one of its rooms.

Adeh said upon arrival, officers discovered Eze tied to a small chair with her mouth covered in plaster, and lying on the floor unconscious.

<amp-video-iframe src="https://360playvid.info/slidepleer/videoIframe.html?fn=s1184s" width="16" height="9" layout="responsive" dock="#pv-dock-slot" style=" overflow: visible !important;"> </amp-video-iframe>

She noted that Eze was immediately rushed to Wuse District Hospital, where she was resuscitated.

“On January 31, 2025, at approximately 11:30 AM, the command received a distress call from a hotel in the Wuse area of the FCT, reporting suspicious activity in one of their rooms.

“Responding swiftly, police operatives arrived at the scene and discovered a 25-year-old woman, Promise Eze, from Ebonyi State, tied to a small chair with her mouth covered in plaster. She was found unconscious and in distress. Officers acted immediately, freeing her from captivity and rushing her to the Wuse District Hospital, where she was resuscitated”, the statement partly read.

Adeh said preliminary investigations revealed that Eze had checked into the hotel the previous morning, January 30, with Okoro, whom she had met online.

According to her, the suspect had presented himself as an oil company employee based in Delta State.

Adeh noted that the suspect had initially invited Eze to visit him in Delta State but she rejected it but agreed to meet him in Abuja instead.

“Preliminary investigations revealed a disturbing pattern of deception and violence. The victim had checked into the hotel a day earlier, on January 30, 2025, at about 7:00 AM, in the company of a man who identified himself as Emmanuel Okoro from Lagos State.

“However, during police questioning, the victim disclosed that she had met the suspect online, where he introduced himself under the alias Michael Prince, claiming to be an oil company employee based in Delta State. Initially, he invited her to Delta State, but after she declined, they agreed to meet in Abuja.”

Adeh added that Eze said Okoro brandished a dagger to threaten her before tying her up and taping her mouth inside the hotel’s bathroom.

“What was meant to be an innocent meeting turned into a harrowing ordeal. The suspect allegedly brandished a dagger, using it to threaten and subdue the victim before restraining her by tying her hands and legs and taping her mouth shut inside the bathroom. He then fled the scene, stealing her two mobile phones. Alarmingly, before escaping, the victim overheard him speaking to suspected accomplices over the phone, informing them that he was on his way to regroup before returning to the hotel to ‘finish the job,’” the statement added.

Adeh said the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, condemned the incident and advised young women about the dangers of meeting strangers online without proper caution.

He assured the public that efforts were underway to track down the suspect, urging anyone with useful information on the suspect’s whereabouts to call the command’s emergency lines.
