Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamaji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2026 off-cycle election in Osun State, has accused opposition elements of impersonating the party by branding vehicles with APC campaign colours to carry out criminal activities and damage his image.

Oyebamiji made the allegation on Friday while addressing journalists after observing the Jumat prayer with Muslim faithful at the Mallam Tope Central Mosque, Osogbo.

APC governorship hopeful says reports that vehicles branded with his campaign materials were being used for criminal activities were handiwork of desperate political opponents bent on discrediting him and undermining his growing support across the state.
He said he and his campaign organization had nothing to do with criminality, stressing that he always conducts his personal, professional and political affairs with integrity and respect for the rule of law.

“I have always been a law-abiding citizen and I will never stray from that path. He said: “Our campaign is anchored on peace, decency and issue-based engagement and we will continue to pursue our democratic aspirations without intimidation or unlawful acts.

“I also took the opportunity to address the disturbing reports of mischievous activities by desperate elements who are branding vehicles with my campaign materials to perpetrate criminal acts and tarnish my name,” Oyebamiji said on the alleged impersonation.
“I call on the security agencies and the good people of Osun to be vigilant and not to be deceived by the antics of those whose only strategy is deception and fear. “Our campaign is rooted in peace, decency and issue-based engagement and we will not be diverted by efforts to tarnish our reputation.”

He appealed to the people of the state to ignore any move to link his campaign with criminal activities, saying his desire is to give purposeful leadership and responsible governance for Osun.

Meanwhile, during the Jumat service, Oyebamiji thanked Almighty Allah for His mercy and sought divine direction for Osun State. He also thanked the Muslim congregation for their warm welcome and prayers supporting his aspiration.

He urged the people to keep the candidate in their prayers and support him, promising to restore purposeful leadership, promote unity and good governance that would impact on the lives of all in the state.

“With the support and prayers of our people and by the grace of God, we will build an Osun where peace, security, prosperity and justice will reign for all,” he added.

Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor of Osun State, has said that if he is elected on August 15, he will bring together people from outside the state and other interest groups.

On Sunday, Oyebamiji told the Arewa Community in Ibokun town, which is in the Obokun local government council area of the state, about this.

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, who used to be a special adviser on civic engagement to former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, spoke for Oyebamiji. He said that his administration would take a structural approach to creating a government that is open to everyone and encourages participation from all social classes.

“This framework will close the gap between the government and the people, making sure that public policies are based on what the people want and need,” he said.

The APC guber candidate said again that the people will be fully involved in making and carrying out his policies. This will help the state reach its full potential in the direction of the Sustainable Development Goals for the good of the people.

He said, “We will keep the party’s programs focused on people and work with a variety of groups, such as farmers’ associations, trade unions, artisans, and non-indigenous communities, who are important stakeholders.”

In response, Alhaji Ayuba Mohammed, the seriki of Arewa Community in the Obokun local government council area, thanked the APC administration led by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for regularly talking to them, giving them the help they needed, and solving all of their community problems that could have turned into crises through the office of civic engagement.

“We will vote for and support APC in the next governorship elections. Bola Oyebamiji is our candidate.”

“They helped us when we had problems with community issues in different parts of the state, and we worked things out peacefully. Since then, we have lived in peace and harmony.

“With the help of the former governor, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, we were able to get land, and the government of Oyetola regularly sent palliative supplies to our communities.”

The leader of the community asked for a more business-friendly environment and asked Oyebamiji to keep the relationship going.

“We are pledging our full support for him, and we will show it at the polls.”
