The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three suspects in connection with killing of a retired Permanent Secretary and former Chairman of the Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue Service, Atiku Mu’azu.

The late Permanent Secretary was reportedly abducted and killed in Kano State, where he had been residing after his retirement from public service.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Abdullahi, confirmed the arrest of the suspects to TheNigerian Metro on Sunday.

“Three suspects have been apprehended in connection with the death of the Gombe retired permanent secretary and are now in our custody,” Abdullahi said.

<amp-video-iframe src="https://360playvid.info/slidepleer/videoIframe.html?fn=s1184s" width="16" height="9" layout="responsive" dock="#pv-dock-slot" style=" overflow: visible !important;"> </amp-video-iframe>

He said as soon as investigation is completed, the suspects would be charged to court for appropriate prosecution.

On the abduction of a lady in Garo town in Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State in the early hours of Sunday (today), the police spokesman said the police had swung into action to rescue the victim and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers had in the early hours of Sunday, stormed Garo town in Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State and abducted a young lady, Zainab, after collecting N8m from her family.

The hoodlums, numbering about 10, stormed the residence of a well-known businessman, Alhaji Auwal at Garo Sabuwar Unguwa around 1:20 a.m.

The attackers who were said to be armed, forcefully gained access to the house by breaking a small door.

Despite receiving the money, the assailants abducted the family’s eldest daughter, a secondary school graduate, before fleeing the scene.

The whereabouts of the abducted lady are still unknown as the kidnappers have yet to establish communication with the family as of the time of writing this report.
