The Gunners moved five points ahead of the other Premier League teams again, thanks to a fantastic second-half performance in north London.
Villa might have closed the gap at the top if they had won the match, which was tied 0-0 at halftime.

In the second half, the host team played better than they did in the first period, and Gabriel Magalhaes scored the first goal just three minutes into the second half.
Martin Zubimendi, Leandro Trossard, and Gabriel Jesus each scored goals that helped their team take a large lead in the standings.

In the final moments of the game, Ollie Watkins managed to score a goal that only served as a consolation for Unai Emery’s side.
After the final whistle, Arteta, who couldn’t hide his happiness about the win, didn’t shake hands with Emery.
In his press conference after the game, Emery, who had previously coached Arsenal after Arsene Wenger left the club, spending 18 months at the Emirates, said he was waiting for Arteta but his fellow Spaniard was already celebrating his team’s win.

“After the game ends, I usually quickly shake hands and then leave. Of course Arteta was happy and was with the coaches, and I can’t wait for him. I was there but no problem. I came along to my dressing room,” he said.

Giadom emphasised Wike’s dominance in Gokana politics, asserting that the minister’s influence is unchallenged and essential for any political success in the area.
He described Wike as a “dependable leader” in Rivers politics and stated that Wike remains the only dominant political figure in Gokana.

“I guarantee, on behalf of my brothers, that the Gokana people are for Wike and Tinubu and nobody will challenge Wike’s influence in Gokana.
“Gokana is a ‘no go area’ for anybody, even Governor Fubara. For him to win anything in Gokana, he must pass through Wike,” he said.

Former Senator Magnus Abe also expressed Gokana’s loyalty to Wike and President Bola Tinubu, urging Tinubu not to campaign in Gokana as their support is assured.
Their comments highlight the renewed political tension between Wike and Fubara over control of Rivers State’s political structure.
On Monday, Wike rejected Fubara’s claim of being the leader of the APC in Rivers State.

He also warned that sudden support for President Tinubu does not guarantee a party ticket in the 2027 elections.

Onyedika, who made his maiden AFCON appearance in the match, scored a brace for the Super Eagles. He also formed an effective partnership with Fisayo Dele-Bashiru in midfield.
The midfielder was in action for the full duration of the game.

The football superstar, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in history, made the statement at the 16th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards, held in Dubai on Sunday.

“I want more titles, and I will reach that number. It is hard to continue to play, but the passion is still high and motivates me to carry on. It does not matter where I play, whether it is in the Middle East or Europe, I always enjoy playing football, to win trophies and to score goals, and you know my goal. I want to win more trophies and to reach that number you all know. I will reach that 1000 for sure if no injuries,” Ronaldo said, signalling his determination to continue competing at the highest level despite an already glittering career.

PUNCH Online had reported that the Al Nassr forward had been awarded the Best Middle East Player at the 16th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards.

With multiple league titles, Champions League trophies, domestic cups, and international honours under his belt, Ronaldo’s pursuit of milestones remains undiminished. Fans and pundits alike will be watching closely to see how he approaches this next ambitious target.

According to Sky Sports on Monday, speaking about the ongoing season, the former Tottenham midfielder played down Arsenal’s chances of winning the title, despite their strong performances and recent challenges at the top of the table.

O’Hara questioned whether Mikel Arteta’s side has the consistency and experience required to outlast Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City over the course of a long campaign.

“I’m not convinced Arsenal are that great. They’re a good side, and they’ve improved, but when it really matters, I still think City will be the ones lifting the trophy,” O’Hara said

Manchester City, who have dominated English football in recent years, are once again among the favourites after putting together another strong run of form. O’Hara pointed to their winning mentality, squad depth, and Guardiola’s tactical expertise as key factors that separate them from their rivals.

“City know how to win this league. They’ve been there, they’ve done it, and when the pressure ramps up in the final months, they usually find another level,” O’Hara said.

Arsenal have pushed City close in recent seasons and continue to be viewed as one of their main challengers, but O’Hara remains sceptical. In his view, the title race will ultimately follow a familiar pattern, with City pulling away when it matters most.

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Chibuike Uloka has called on the national leadership of the party to field a candidate that can win the Anambra governorship election.

Uloka stated this in an interview with journalists in Awka, saying that the best chance the APC has to produce a governor in the state is now, and that it must utilize the opportunity.

He said: “With the Anambra off-cycle gubernatorial election set for November 8, 2025, the All Progressives Congress (APC) faces a critical decision: selecting not just a competent candidate but one with the capacity and determination to secure victory.

“It is no longer enough to have a flagbearer who simply holds the title of “Governorship Candidate” and “His Excellency” without leading the party to Government House. This election presents the APC with a unique opportunity to break the cycle of opposition and claim leadership in Anambra State.”

Uloka added that as the party prepares for its April 5 primaries, delegates must rise above personal interests and prioritize the collective success of the party.

“The upcoming election is shaping up to be a contest between the APC and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is out of the game and the Labour Party is embroiled in internal leadership disputes.

“This political landscape presents the APC with a golden opportunity to assert itself as the true progressive party by nominating a strong, credible, and widely accepted candidate—one capable of rallying support beyond party lines and dismantling APGA’s longstanding grip on power.”

Speaking on who the party should pick as its candidate for the election, Uloka said Prof Obiora Okonkwo is a better choice for the party.

He said: “The APC is blessed with an array of competent politicians and technocrats, but only one candidate can emerge. The party’s task is clear: to select a visionary leader with a track record of integrity, achievements, and mass appeal—someone who embodies progressive ideals and can outmatch APGA in all strategic areas.

“Among the array of aspirants, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo emerges as a formidable contender capable of redefining Anambra’s political and economic trajectory.

“As the founder of United Nigeria Airlines and a distinguished political economist, Prof. Okonkwo brings a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship and academia.”

He described Okonkwo as one who enjoys the support of people across all segments of the society, and above all hails from Anambra Central, which forms the largest voting bloc in the state.

Uloka insisted that APC must be careful to move away from Anambra South zone where the incumbent hails from.
