Rep. Philip Agbese Flags Off Distribution of 1,200 Fertilizers to Farmers in Okpokwu LGA

In a move aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and supporting food security in Okpokwu Local Government Area, the member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Rep. Philip Agbese, has flagged off the distribution of 1,200 bags of fertilizer to farmers across the area.
The distribution exercise, which took place in Ichama, was formally flagged off today in the presence of traditional rulers, community stakeholders, and a large turnout of excited farmers.
Representing the lawmaker at the ceremony was his Personal Assistant, Mr. Gideon Unazi, alongside other stakeholders. The event also had in attendance the clan heads and the chief, underscoring the broad community support for the initiative.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Unazi conveyed Rep. Agbese’s commitment to the welfare of farmers in the constituency, noting that the fertilizer distribution was part of deliberate efforts to enhance crop yield and ease the financial burden on local farmers amid rising input costs.
The ceremony commenced with an opening prayer led by a Catholic Reverend Father, setting a tone of gratitude and unity for the occasion.
Receiving the fertilizers on behalf of the farmers, community leaders expressed appreciation to Rep. Agbese for his consistent support and for remembering the agricultural needs of the people of Okpokwu.
They prayed for continued blessings, protection, and wisdom upon the legislator as he continues to represent the constituency.

The beneficiaries, drawn from various communities across the local government area, will each receive fertilizers to support their farming activities for the season.
The flag-off ceremony ended with cheers, prayers, and renewed hope among the farming community, many of whom described the gesture as timely and impactful.
