The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a credible, fair and secure 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, stressing that only Computer-Based Test centres that meet its prescribed standards will be accredited to host the examination.
According to a post obtained from its X handle on Thursday, the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Segun Aina, gave the indication during a meeting with the leadership of the Chief External Examiners, where discussions focused on preparations and readiness for the accreditation exercise ahead of the 2027 UTME.
The meeting provided an opportunity to assess the preparedness of the examination officials and reinforce the Board’s commitment to maintaining the required standards for CBT centres across the country.
JAMB emphasised that the accreditation process would ensure that only centres with the necessary facilities and operational capacity are approved to conduct the examination.
“Only centres that meet JAMB’s standards will be accredited to host the examination. For candidates, that means a fair and secure place to sit the UTME, wherever they write it,” JAMB stated.
The move is aimed at providing candidates with a secure, reliable and conducive examination environment, regardless of their location.
The Board’s insistence on strict accreditation standards is also expected to strengthen the integrity of the UTME and minimise challenges associated with the conduct of computer-based examinations.
With preparations for the 2027 UTME gathering momentum, JAMB has maintained that compliance with its accreditation requirements remains essential for any centre seeking approval to participate in the examination.
