Convicted killer, Umar Auwal, popularly known as Breaker, has pleaded for forgiveness from the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and residents of the state over the murder of Fatima Abubakar and her six children in Dorayi Chiranci, Kumbotso Local Government Area.
Umar appealed during his final address before the court, shortly before he was sentenced to death for the murder of Fatima and her six children in January 2026.
“I sincerely seek forgiveness from everyone, particularly my parents, Fatima’s parents, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and the entire people of Kano,” he pleaded.
In a further statement, Umar alleged that a witch doctor had influenced him to commit the crimes and called for the person’s arrest to prevent similar incidents in the future.
“I committed all those acts because a witch doctor made me do them. If we want to prevent something like this from happening again, the witch doctor should be arrested,” he said.
The court sentenced Umar to death seven times after finding him guilty of murdering Fatima Abubakar and her six children in Dorayi Chiranci, Kano State.
