The All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy National Chairman (South), Dr. Benjamin Nwoye, has urged the former state chairmen of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and other critical party stakeholders to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
He said it is the responsibility of the opposition not to allow it distract Tinubu but to sensitise Nigerians that the president remains the best option for the country as they continue to regroup.
This was disclosed by Nwoye when he received G-37, a group of former state chairmen of the defunct ACN and other legacy party leaders, who paid him a solidarity visit at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja yesterday.
The APC deputy national chairman and former ACN state chairman assured his colleagues and other founding fathers of the party that President Tinubu does not forget loyal party faithful and urged members to remain steadfast as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
He said Tinubu is a leader who values commitment and sacrifice even if not all loyal members get political appointments

“The opposition is regrouping and it is our duty to ensure that they do not distract our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We need to build our members up, reconnect with them and fire them up. “There is no alternative to returning a man with a clear vision for the reform of Nigeria,” Nwoye said.
Nwoye, who is also a member of the house committee on the army, stated that the Tinubu administration has achieved some milestones, including the ongoing road infrastructure projects in various parts of the country, adding that Nigerians are already enjoying the benefits of the government’s development initiatives.
He also urged the APC to continue to recognise its founding members, saying the sacrifices of those who built the party should never be forgotten even as new members are brought into its fold.
Earlier, the leader of the G37, Comrade Cletus Obum, had called on the party leadership to give more consideration to legacy members who laid the foundation of the APC in appointments, committee memberships and election assignments.
Obum said recognising the party’s pioneers would boost loyalty and maintain the progressive ideals on which the APC was founded, adding that the group remained committed to the success of President Tinubu and the party in the lead-up to the 2027 polls.
“We ask you to continue to speak up for us. This isn’t about separation. It’s about honoring the people who built the house so they’re not out in the rain.”
“Even if only a fraction of these members are provided opportunities, it will go a long way in strengthening loyalty and commitment,” he said.
