The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has said President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term in office to consolidate the economic reforms and infrastructure development initiatives of his administration.
On his post on X on Saturday, Yilwatda stated this in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, during the reception of President Tinubu’s campaign train, where an enthusiastic crowd turned out to demonstrate support for the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He described the Tinubu-Shettima ticket as one of the most formidable political combinations in Nigeria’s history, praising the President for what he called courageous leadership and commitment to national development.
According to him, Tinubu has demonstrated the political will to confront difficult national challenges, including the removal of fuel subsidy and the economic difficulties inherited by his administration.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a fearless leader, reformer and performer who has confronted daunting national challenges, from fuel subsidy removal to inherited economic difficulties,” Yilwatda said.
He noted that despite the challenges associated with the ongoing reforms, the administration had continued to pursue an ambitious infrastructure development programme, particularly through major superhighway projects across the country.
The APC chairman maintained that continuity in leadership would provide the administration with the opportunity to consolidate its policies and ongoing projects.
“As we approach 2027, we must sustain these reforms and give our President the opportunity to consolidate his achievements,” he said.
Yilwatda also expressed confidence in the political support President Tinubu enjoys in Rivers State, noting that political stakeholders across party lines were prepared to rally behind the President.
He specifically mentioned Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as key political figures expected to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election.
“Come January 2027, Rivers State will stand still as Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, mobilise the people to deliver massive votes for President Tinubu,” he stated.
He added that the Renewed Hope Agenda remained the administration’s development framework, expressing confidence in its continued implementation.
“Together, we will sustain the Renewed Hope Agenda and usher in a second term of greater prosperity for all Nigerians,” Yilwatda said.
