FCT Flags Off Construction of Tungan Madaki–Zuba Access Road

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration has officially flagged off the construction of the access road linking Tungan Madaki to Zuba, marking another step in ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure and enhance connectivity within the nation’s capital.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held on Monday, drew government officials, community leaders, residents and other stakeholders who welcomed the commencement of the project.

The road is expected to improve transportation for commuters and motorists, ease traffic movement and provide better access to surrounding communities. Residents have long advocated for the construction of the road, citing its importance to economic activities, security and access to essential services.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, officials of the FCT Administration reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding infrastructure across the territory in line with its development agenda. They noted that the project forms part of broader efforts to improve road networks and stimulate socio-economic growth in the FCT.

Community representatives expressed appreciation to the government for responding to their long-standing request, expressing optimism that the project would improve mobility, boost commercial activities and enhance the quality of life for residents.

Construction work is expected to commence immediately, with contractors mobilising to the site following the official flag-off. Upon completion, the Tungan Madaki–Zuba access road is expected to provide a safer and more efficient transportation corridor for residents, businesses and visitors within the area.

The project is one of several infrastructure initiatives being undertaken by the FCT Administration to improve public infrastructure and support sustainable urban development across the Federal Capital Territory.
