The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of 18 presidential candidates and their running mates for the 2027 general election.
The list was contained in a statement signed by the commission’s Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, and includes candidates representing different political parties.
INEC said 16 of the presidential candidates are male, while two are female.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is listed as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will contest under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi also appears on the list as the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Oyo State Governor Oluseyi Makinde is listed under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Other notable candidates include Sandy Ojang Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
The electoral commission also listed Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje of the Action Alliance (AA), Abbas-Bin Aliyu of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Yusuf Kabiru of the Action Peoples Party (APP) and African Action Congress candidate Omoyele Sowore.
Other contenders are Sunday Adenuga of the Boot Party, Adebisi Olusoji of the Democratic Labour Alliance, Sunday Okereke of the Labour Party, Adewole Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party, Peter Agada of the Young Progressive Party and Nwanyanwu Daberechukwu of the Zenith Labour Party.
The female candidates are Ada Elizabeth Frederick Okwori of the National Democratic Party and Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement.
The release of the final list marks another major step in preparations for the 2027 general election.
